Steve cuts the tip of his thumb off!!!

Most of you already know by now that Steve had an accident two weeks ago. He was working at his shop and called me to take him to the emergency room. Those of you that know Steve (or any of the Saddler boys) know that if he is asking to go to the hospital, it's gotta be bad. Evidently, he decided not to use his "push stick" and used his finger instead to move a board out of the way. While doing this, he forgot that his thumb might get in the way. Well, x-rays proved he didn't get the bone. It seems to be healing rather well though I still can't look at it. His thumb will be a little flatter at the tip than it used to be!!! He was so excited that they wrapped it up with so much stuff. The bright blue was especially appealing as he had to speak in Sacrament Meeting for Ward Conference the following day.

McKinley's Birthday Party

McKinley had her birthday party at Chuck E. Cheese's this year. She invited some friends from school, her cousin, Ryleigh, and Madison came along to help mom. Madison did help somewhat but enjoyed herself quite a bit and turned back into an 8 year old for a couple of hours. McKinley and her friends had a great time.

McKinley's 8th Birthday

So, I'm a little slow at this. McKinley celebrated her 8th birthday 10 days ago. She absolutely loves breakfast. So - she insisted on breakfast for all three meals. Steve fixed her bacon, waffles, and eggs for breakfast. It was brunch for lunch at school. And, for "dinner" she wanted to go to Doug & Emmy's in Layton.

McKinley shows off some of her presents.

Madison, McKinley & Taylor - they are never "normal".

Okay - so I convinced them to be normal for one snapshot!

Taylor's 17th Birthday

Last week we celebrated Taylor's 17th birthday. Wow we are getting old!

Boyfriend in a Box - compliments of Aunt Becky!

Candy - compliments of Madison & McKinley.

I-Pod FM Transmitter - compliments of Mom & Dad.

We celebrated by taking the family out to Taylor's restaurant of choice - Mimi's. Madison enjoyed her bowl of soup as she had just gotten her braces on earlier that day.

New Years Eve 2008

Our New Years Eve Party was really fun. We are so blessed to have such good friends to associate with. We ate good food, played Oodles, Pictionary, and Scum, and enjoyed each others company - at least I did. I hope everyone had a great time. We appreciated you being there.

Tiffany and Rick Gatten try to draw a corral - the girls won this one!!! Looks more like Rick is drawing a castle. Sorry Rick!!!

Kristi & Troy Nye compete in an all-play. Kristi is drawing a headband like she is supposed to. Troy is drawing a "sweat"band. The guys got this one!

Brian & Heather Saddler drawing a "blouse". How did the guys ever get this one?

Glenn & Lori Nelson, Jennie Bair and Kristi Nye are trying to figure out what Rick is drawing!

Shaun & Jennie Bair are drawing "profile". The girls got this one as well.

Glenn Nelson attempts to draw an onion - it must have been a pretty good one because the guys got it.

DeLayne & Jodi Hansen concentrate intently, Jodi hated all-plays with DeLayne!

Here, Steve and I are drawing a "life preserver". Steve draws waaaay better than me but the girls got this one as well.

In the end the guys ended up winning but the girls weren't very far behind.

Steve & I as 2009 rang in.

A Great Friday Night!!!

Well, Friday turned out to be quite the evening. The Syracuse Titans football team was playing Pleasant Grove in the playoffs. I hadn't planned on going since Steve would have to work. But, I'm glad I have good friends and was talked into going - thanks Kristi!

The game was awesome - the final play even better. Syracuse made a touchdown with 1.2 seconds left - winning the game 27 to 25. How exciting!!!

I did learn a few things at the game - Here they are.

1) I have VERY LOUD friends - I didn't know women could yell like that.

2) I don't know as much about football as I thought I did. This entire season Tiffany, Kristi, & Jennie (as well as their husbands and mine (when he came) were very kind to help me try to figure the game out. I thought I was doing pretty well until Friday. I'm so confused!!!

3) Despite being confused, I actually did enjoy going.

Afterwards, we all went to JCW's for dinner. I hadn't been there for years (sorry Chris & Libby - we just don't get down to that end of the valley very often). It was great! Everyone loved the food! If any of you haven't been there and are ever near Thanksgiving Point or American Fork, try it out - you won't be disappointed.

Here is our group - Shaun & Jennie, Kristi & Troy, Debbie, Corbin & Kortney, Rick & Tiffany, McKinley, Carley (you can just barely see her hat), Casidy, Madison, Katelyn, Chantel, Zach, Taylor, Lyssi, & Sara!!!

Here is a pretty good view of the mountains, the Vikings Stadium and the awesome Syracuse Titan Football team!!!

McKinley, Carley, Casidy, Madison, Chantel, & Katelyn anxiously await their food.

A Not-So-Spooky Halloween

Well, as you can tell, our Halloween wasn't very spooky. I guess that is what happens when you have girls. McKinley dressed as a very groovy hippie, Madison dressed as? - I'm not so sure - you be the judge, and Taylor finally gave up trick-or-treating!!!

McKinley carves a pretty "groovy" pumpkin!

Madison - my how you have changed!!!

McKinley is too cool!!!

The girls went trick-or-treating with Casidy and Carley Bair. They had a fun night.
